Cecilia Álvarez, nueva presidenta de APEP
Cecilia Álvarez Rigaudias es la nueva presidenta de la Asociación Profesional Española de Privacidad (APEP). La Asociación nombró nueva Junta Directiva en la Asamblea Extraordinaria celebrada el 19 de mayo en Barcelona.
Cecilia Álvarez Rigaudias es European Privacy Officer Lead de la multinacional farmacéutica Pfizer. Previamente lideró las áreas de protección de datos, IT y comercio electrónico del despacho de abogados español Uría Menéndez (donde se incorporó en 1997) así como el LATAM Data Protection Working Group formada con la red de best friends de este despacho en LATAM. Su práctica como abogada externa en estas especialidades fue reconocida de forma ininterrumpida en los directorios legales de Best Lawyers, Chambers e International Who’s Who Lawyers para España.
Es presidenta de APEP (Asociación Profesional Española de Privacidad), representante español de CEDPO (Confederation of European Data Protection Organisations), miembro del Steering Committee de The Sedona Conference y vice-presidenta de la rama europea de IPPC (International Pharmaceutical Privacy Consortium).
Participó en el grupo de expertos seleccionado por la autoridad española de protección de datos para preparar la Resolución de Madrid sobre los estándares internacionales de privacidad en 2009. También formó parte del Volunteer Group of Privacy Experts del grupo de trabajo de la OCDE sobre Seguridad de la Información y Privacidad (WPISP) a cargo de la revisión de las OECD guidelines governing the protection of privacy and transborder data flows of personal data.
Es autora de numerosas publicaciones sobre protección de datos e imparte habitualmente cursos/ponencias sobre protección de datos, IT y comercio electrónico en distintos programas de master y seminarios (Universidad de Navarra, IE, ICADE, Universidad Carlos III, Forum on International Privacy Law, IAPP, European Privacy Officers Network (EPON), The Sedona Conference, Magister Lvcentinvs, …).
Cecilia Alvarez Rigaudias is the new president of the Spanish Privacy Professional Association (APEP). The Association appointed new Board of Directors at the Extraordinary Assembly held on May 19 in Barcelona.
Cecilia Álvarez Rigaudias is the European Privacy Officer Lead of the pharma multinational Pfizer. She formerly worked in the Spanish law firm Uría Menéndez, leading the data protection, IT and ecommerce areas of practice as well as the LATAM Data Protection Working Group.
She is president of APEP (Spanish Privacy Professional Association), Spanish member of CEDPO (Confederation of European Data Protection Organisations), member of the Steering Committee of The Sedona Conference and Vice-president of European branch of IPPC (International Pharmaceutical Privacy Consortium).
She also participated in the Group of Experts selected by the Spanish DPA to prepare the Madrid Resolution on International Privacy Standards in 2009. She formed part of the Volunteer Group of Privacy Experts of the OECD Working Party on Information Security and Privacy (WPISP) in charge of the recent review of the OECD guidelines governing the protection of privacy and transborder data flows of personal data.
She has written numerous publications on data protection and regularly lectures on data protection, IT and e-commerce at different Master’s programmes and seminars (Universidad de Navarra, IE, ICADE, Universidad Carlos III, Forum on International Privacy Law, IAPP, European Privacy Officers Network (EPON), The Sedona Conference, Magister Lvcentinvs, …) and has been highly ranked in the legal directories Best Lawyers, Chambers and International Who’s Who Lawyers for Spain.
